- Due to poor visibility and heavy traffic at this intersection, it is necessary for a stop sign or other traffic control measure to be installed. There have been numerous accidents at this location over the past several decades. The main issue is visibility. Drivers are forced to pull well past the existing stop line to check whether the road is clear. This often places the front of the vehicle directly into the traffic lane before the driver can safely see approaching cars, creating a dangerous situation. This intersection is also located near an elementary school. Small children and parents walk through this area daily while traveling to and from school. With the number of crashes already occurring here—even in broad daylight—the risk of a pedestrian being struck is extremely concerning. If drivers sometimes cannot see other vehicles until it is too late, it raises serious concerns that a pedestrian could be even harder to see.
